The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I (Jesus) have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
-John 10:10
Being a Christian is great, and not just because of the whole living with Jesus forever thing. Christianity, unlike the rest of the world's religions, is not a list of do's and don'ts. It isn't about being good enough, or at least not being too bad. It isn't about not having any fun and being bored. It's about love, freedom, joy, and complete fulfillment. Here are a few reasons why:
There is no doubt! I know that I am going to heaven when I die. I don't have to earn it (and I couldn't if I tried), and I don't have to spend my days wondering about what is going to happen to me. Of course, my lack of faith leads me to doubt at times, but the Bible is explicitly clear that all who believe in Jesus will get to live with Jesus; as well as with everyone else who believes in Him (John 3:16).
My life has a purpose! No matter where I end up or what type of job I have, I know it is all for a reason. God can use everyone and every situation to bring Him glory and for Him to share His love with others. I am not defined by my career or my relationships, I'm defined by Jesus.
I live in freedom! Contrary to what many believe (typically by those who have never read the Bible), Christianity is about freedom in Christ. Think about it; if God created everything, and created life as we know it, He knows what is best for us and what brings us most joy- we don't. The Bible tells us to flee sin not because God doesn't want us to have a good time, but because that is the only way to enjoy life. Addictions to sex, pornography, alcohol, stealing, lying, drugs; they all began as a rebellion against either God or the law. What you thought was your gateway to freedom has now made you a slave.
I have nothing to prove! My life isn't about what happens in this life. Although unfortunately I often concern myself with temporal things, ultimately that is not what I am living for. I don't have to make a lot of money or please a lot of people. I'm not here achieve some unobtainable goal of unfulfilling happiness. I'm only here to tell other people about Jesus, and honor Him with the life He has given me. I am not here to please anyone. If people do not like me due to character issues or lack of love, then of course that is of concern to me. But if I am not liked simply because of what I believe or stand for, so be it. Although I often fail at this as well, I ultimately live for an audience of One.
